Weddings

Evelyn Ruiz Arucan, daughter of Consolacion and Juan Arucan of Waipahu, and Michael Alan Barut, son of Alicia and Marcelino Barut of Honolulu, were married Jan. 12 at St. Theresa's. The reception followed at Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort. The bride (University of Hawai'i bachelor's), now Evelyn Arucan Barut, is a project coordinator for a nonprofit drug prevention organization. The groom (UH bachelor's) is a waiter and order taker at a hotel. They live in Honolulu.

Brenda Theresa Pi'ilani Crabbe, daughter of Eric and Janet Crabbe of 'Aiea, and Michael Joseph Jones, son of Pamela and Fred Shoemaker of Hesperus, Colo., and Robert and Jo Ellen Jones of Palm Springs, Calif., were married Nov. 11 at the Sheraton Waikiki. The reception followed at the hotel. The bride (1983 Kamehameha Schools, 1994 University of Redlands bachelor's, 1997 University of Hawai'i-Manoa master's), now Brenda Theresa Pi'ilani Crabbe-Jones, is a medical social worker. The groom (Indio High in Indio, Calif.), now Michael Joseph Crabbe-Jones, formerly of Palm Springs, is a journeyman carpenter and lead scaffolder. They live in 'Aiea.

Engagments

Shannon Chiyon Pak and Cory Kiyoshi Waki have announced their engagement. Pak, of Honolulu, formerly of 'Aiea, is a hotel guest service representative. Waki, of 'Aiea, is a civil engineer. They plan to be wed May 5 in Waikiki.

Harvey and Kathryn Takara of Ka'a'awa, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Natasha Takara, to Bradley Harrington, son of Bruce and Nancy Harrington of Newport Beach, Calif. Natasha Takara, of Redwood City, Calif., is formerly of Ka'a'awa. Bradley Harrington, of Redwood City, is formerly of Newport Beach, Calif. They plan to marry June 22 in Ka'a'awa.
