THE LEFT LANE
Is Dexter Jettster another Jar Jar?
First, the potentially bad: The joy of Jar Jar Binks' hoped-for final bow in "Clones" may be tempered by the debut of one Dexter Jettster, an informant to Obi-Wan Kenobi. As described by Lucasfilm, Jettster is "an enormous character straight out of a '40s detective film" with four large arms and "a grubby shirt, greasy apron and pants that tend to slide." Be afraid.
And the good? Samuel L. Jackson said his Jedi master character, Mace Windu, "knows that war is coming and he's in full attack mode ... now I finally get to fight in these incredible scenes." The potential of Windu going Det. John Shaft on anyone (including Jettster) keeps our "Clones" Lightsaber Meter at "8."
