Magellan Health closing offices
Three Hawai'i offices of Magellan Health Services, its affiliate Magellan Behavioral Health and Hawaii Biodyne Inc. will close, effective June 28, according to an April 25 letter from Magellan Behavioral Health to the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
The letter said 51 employees will lose their jobs.
A Magellan official in Hawai'i declined comment; Mainland officials could not be reached.
Two offices are in Honolulu and one is in Hilo. The closings are expected to be permanent and result from the loss of a contract, the letter said.
Magellan Health Services is a national behavioral health managed-care company based in Maryland. The company does business in Hawai'i under the name Hawaii Biodyne.
