'Made in Hawai'i' has music, too

In addition to goods and foods made in the Islands, the "Made in Hawaii Festival" Aug. 16 to 18 at the Blaisdell Center will feature "name" entertainment.

The schedule:

• Aug. 16: noon, Jerry Santos; 1 p.m., Ernie Cruz Jr.; 3 p.m., Ku'uipo Kumukahi; 5 p.m., O'Brian Eselu; 7 p.m., Darren Benitez.

• Aug. 17: 11 a.m., Frank DeLima; 1 p.m., Genoa Keawe; 3 p.m., Jay Larrin; 5 p.m., Maunalua; 7 p.m., Nohelani Cypriano.

• Aug. 18: 11 a.m., 'Ale'a; 1 p.m., Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom; 3 p.m., Sean Na'auao.

HPU seeks cast for 'Salesman'

Hawai'i Pacific University will hold auditions in September for its November production of Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman," a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning drama. Tryouts will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 6 and at noon Sept. 7 and 8, with production set from Nov. 8 to Dec. 8.

Joyce Maltby will direct.

The story revolves around the last days of Willy Loman, a salesman on the skids, and the impact his failures have on his family. Roles for eight men and five women of various ages are available.

Auditions will be at HPU's Windward Campus, at 45-045 Kamehameha Highway, Kane'ohe.

Praise Concert planned for Kaua'i

A Praise Concert, set for 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall, will feature a host of island performers. The participants include Chucky Boy Chock; Leo Giovanetti's Agape Brothers & the Sunday Drivers of San Diego; Na Keiki O Ni'ihau; New Beginnings CC of Lancaster, Calif.; Robbie and Pua Kaholokua; Door of Faith Nanakuli/Honolulu; Tammy Faford & the UCF Worship Team; KBC Orchestra and more.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
