MARK
Intercontinental lady

Honolulu's Liane Mark won the title of Miss Intercontinental in a pageant aboard the Carnival ship Fascination during a four-day cruise between Miami and Key West, Fla., and Cozumel, Mexico. Mark, 24, beat a field of 54 delegates from the 50 states and Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands.

As Miss Intercontinental, Mark will spend a year of service with the National MS Society, raising public awareness of multiple sclerosis and helping raise money for research. She was Hawai'i's Junior Miss in 1995.

Mark was diagnosed with MS last year, and her story was told in People magazine and national TV shows, including "Extra."

One of her goals, she says, is to help others achieve great things in the face of adversity.

AYLESWORTH
Three added to '24'

The critically acclaimed Fox thriller "24," which has started production on its second season, has added Reiko Aylesworth, Tracy Middendorf and John Terry to the cast.

All three will play recurring roles in the real-time drama following the extraordinarily complicated life of now ex-counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

Aylesworth, who co-starred in UPN's "All Souls" and appeared in Fox's short-lived "American Embassy" last season, will play a new CTU member. Middendorf ("Beverly Hills, 90210") will play a single mom. Terry, who played Dr. Div Cvetic on "ER"'s first season, will play the father of Bauer's new love interest (Sarah Wynter).

Ellen's a square

Ellen DeGeneres will be the first occupant of the center square when the revamped "Hollywood Squares" returns in the fall, with Alec Baldwin set to fill the spot later in the season.

Henry Winkler and Michael Levitt, the new executive producers of the syndicated game show, are making a number of changes to "Squares" as it enters the fifth season of its current run in the fall. Among the new features: a redesigned set and an additional bonus round. Winkler and Levitt took over the show after executive producer and center square Whoopi Goldberg left the show, and production company Moffit-Lee was let go.
