"Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), 2 p.m., AMC. This sweeping epic belongs on the big screen, but it can still be savored on television sets. The real-life T.E. Lawrence was a scholar and soldier, an Englishman who organized the Arabs' hit-and-run, guerrilla-style attacks on their Turkish rulers in World War I.Director David Lean ("Dr. Zhivago") cast then-newcomer Peter O'Toole in the title role; the result won seven Oscars, including best picture.

Of Note

"The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977), 7 p.m., ABC. The nasty Stromberg (Curt Jurgens) wants to destroy the world — and has a steel-toothed giant (Richard Kiel) to help him. James Bond (Roger Moore) battles them helped by a beautiful Russian spy (Barbara Bach).
