Maui family agency gets federal grant

A Maui agency that provides child and family services was awarded a federal grant of $504,300, U.S. Rep. Patsy Mink announced yesterday.
Maui Family Support Services was awarded an Early Head Start Program grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, said Mink, D-Hawai'i.
The award continues and extends indefinitely a grant the Maui agency has had for five years.
Maui Family Support Services' Early Head Start program serves 65 children and families on Maui.
Mink also announced that Kapi'olani Community College had been awarded $276,374 from the U.S. Department of Education for its Educational Interpreters and Assistants Preparation Project.
