THE LEFT LANE
Journey concert

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Care if your cup of Journey comes without Steve Perry? The REO Speedwagon-era supergroup, with new lead vocalist Steve Augueri (formerly in the band Tall Stories), is coming to the Blaisdell Arena on Oct. 10 and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Oct. 12, according to the band's Web site (www.journeymusic.com). Recent CD releases include "Arrival" (pictured above) and RED 13, an EP.

Blaisdell tickets, at $55 and $45, go on sale Saturday. Information: 591-2211. Iffy on shelling out for tickets to a Perry-less Journey? Well, Augueri is rumored to be a ringer for the ex-lead in the vocal department.

With Perry in tow, the band has a been a Honolulu concert favorite in the past, performing up to three shows per trip and selling out virtually every one. In addition to Augueri, Journey's current line-up features guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and drummer Deen Castronovo. Disposable lighters for flicking during "Faithfully" and "Open Arms" not included in ticket price.

Aniston reflects on what might have been

ANISTON
In her new film, "The Good Girl," Jennifer Aniston plays a discount-store employee who does not seem to have many ambitions — much like Aniston herself, before she got busy with her hit TV series.

"Until 'Friends,' I really thought acting was a 'you do a job once a year' thing," she said recently.

"I don't know if it was right to say I wasn't very ambitious, but I had that thought a lot — the dream of maybe succeeding or making money at what I really want to do might not happen — and I might just be a professional waitress. And that was fine."
