Housekeeping grant for IHS
The Chamber of Commerce has awarded $10,000 to IHS, O'ahu's emergency homeless shelter. The grant comes from the chamber's Public Health Fund Committee and will be used for sanitation of the shelters.
"Many of our guests suffer from mental illness and substance-abuse problems," said Lynn Maunakea, IHS executive director. "It is one of the agency's primary objectives to keep the shelter clean and safe for guests and staff alike."
