Movie Openings

"The Adventures of Pluto Nash": An action/adventure/comedy flick with sci-fi thrown in: Eddie Murphy plays the title character, the owner of the hottest nightclub on the moon in the year 2087. "Gangster No. 1": A story set in 1968 and 1999, involving a lifelong struggle of wills between a gangster (played by Paul Bettany when young, Malcolm McDowell when older) and a London crime boss (David Thewlis). Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (R).

"Home Movie": A funny-strange documentary about five eccentric lifestyles: a boathouse, a tree house, a converted missile silo, a house for the convenience of cats, and a house so automated it looks like Rube Goldberg run amok. Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (R).

"Tadpole": A "Graduate" clone in which a 15-year-old boy (Aaron Stanford) has a romantic passion for his 40-year-old stepmother (Sigourney Weaver). In the midst of his confusion, he is seduced by her 40-ish friend (Bebe Neuwirth). Opens tomorrow at Varsity Twin. (PG-13).

"Who is Cletis Tout?": Tim Allen plays a hit man who loves the movies. Hired to kill Christian Slater, he becomes intrigued by Slater's insistence that he is not Cletis Tout, the intended victim, but simply someone using Cletis' identity. Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (R).
