FUN HOUSE
Camping trip brings out best

Last month, I went camping with my 7-year-old daughter and her Summer Fun group.

On the first night, we roasted marshmallows around a big campfire. We were huddled close to the fire because the roasting sticks were not very long.

My daughter asked me to roast her marshmallow for her because she was getting too hot. She said, "I need to get out of here and un-burn my face!"

It also was the first summer she ate slices of watermelon with the rind (before, she had them cubed, with the seeds removed).

I gave her four slices on a plate. When she finished eating them, she said, "I'm done, Mommy. All I have left are seeds and shells."
