ISLE FILE
Murphy's to host UH football fund-raiser

Advertiser Staff

The seventh Murphy's Warrior Pigskin Pigout, which raised a little more than $100,000 last year for the University of Hawai'i football team, will be held Thursday at Murphy's Bar & Grill on Merchant Street.

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $100, which includes food and entertainment.

Live and silent auctions will be held, with one lucky bidder earning a trip to see the Denver Broncos play the Oakland Raiders. Another will watch Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and other NASCAR drivers compete at Sears Point International Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., next year.

Among other items to be auctioned are an original painting by Big Island artist Dietrich Varez, trips to the Neighbor Islands, tickets to the Daytona 500, a Sam Choy luau, a hunting safari at Parker Ranch and a quilt creation by Marion Murphy.

All proceeds will go to Na Koa, the UH football team's booster club.

Following this year's auction, the fund-raising event will exceed $500,000.

For information and tickets, call Murphy's at 531-0422 or 585-6442.
