St. Louis rolls past Nanakuli

Stanley Nihipali completed two touchdown passes to Makaala Kuewa to lift St. Louis to a 28-6 preseason football victory over host Nanakuli last night.

The Crusaders scored on their first possession and never trailed. Nihipali hit Kuewa with a 27-yard scoring pass to give the Crusaders a 6-0 lead. Nihipali connected with Kuewa on a 26-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

The Crusader defense held the Golden Hawks two yards of total offense in the first half.

• Punahou 28, 'Aiea 13: Drew Monahan passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead the Buffanblu over Na Ali'i.

• Campbell 30, Kalaheo 0: Kenny Amaral passed for a touchdown and ran for another as the Sabers blanked the Mustangs at Mililani.

• Lahainaluna 19, Waiakea 18: Waiakea's Myles Ioane completed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Troy Milhoan with 1:37 to go, but the Warriors run for a two-point conversion failed as Lahainaluna held on for a preseason victory at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku.

Lahainaluna's Keola Maielua scored on 12-yard run in the second quarter and kicked the only extra point made by the two teams.

• Maui 14, Kaua'i 7: Dane Patao completed a 3-yard TD pass to Timothy Larson, then scored on a 20-yard run, as the Sabers defeated the Red Raiders at Vidinha Stadium in Lihue, Kaua'i.

Ikaika Bernard scored in the first quarter for Kaua'i on an 11-yard TD pass from Lei Maglinti.
