Car passenger killed in crash

A 21-year-old woman was killed early today in a collision between a van and car at Kamehameha Highway and Pu'u Momi Street in Pearl City.

The woman, identified by the medical examiner as Jonalynn Nakamoto of Honolulu, was a passenger in a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu turning left from Kamehameha Highway to Pu'u Momi that was broadsided by a westbound Chevrolet van at 12:18 a.m. Nakamoto was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead an hour later.

The drivers of the car and van suffered head injuries and are in guarded condition at Queen's, police said.

It is O'ahu's 42nd traffic fatality of the year as compared with 52 on this date last year.

Women accused of prostitution

Police charged three wo-men with prostitution in a Pawa'a-area massage parlor bust Friday at 1334 Young St.

Narcotics/Vice Capt. Kevin Lima said police have made repeated arrests at Rakuen Relaxation in the past and the latest incident involved undercover officers allegedly being propositioned.

The three women charged with prostitution and operating an unlicensed business were Miyung Annas, 40; Ae Kyong Lee, 46, and Thaikon Phatchreporn, 30.
