Hollywood script experts to speak

Two Hollywood script consultants, Linda Seger and Kathy Fong Yoneda, will speak at a "Hawai'i Film Summit" meeting, "Connecting, not Competing: Creating and Sustaining a Viable Film & TV Industry in Hawai'i" 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 8 at Don Ho's Island Grill at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

The session is free and intended for anyone interested in the island film and television industry.

Seger is author of "Web Thinking: Connecting, Not Competing, for Success" and "Making a Good Script Great."

Yoneda is a story analyst, development specialist and author of "The Script Selling Game: A Hollywood Insider's Look at Getting Your Script Sold and Purchased."

Culinary institute benefit Sept. 17

Ho'okipa 2002, the annual fund-raiser for the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Kapi'olani Community College, will be from 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Monarch Room of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Table sponsorship sales are now under way; single seats will be available later.

The event showcases the culinary skills of KCC students.

Tickets: $10,000 for Imperial table of 10, $5,000 for Ali'i Court table of 10, and $2,000 for Kapi'olani Court table for 10. Reservations: 734-9570.
