Deon Lourens of San Diego won the Ironman Triathlon Revisited, a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run on O'ahu, finishing in 9 hours and 45 minutes yesterday.

Karl Haussman finished second in 9:55:00, and Jorge Heilbron was third in 10:47:00. Hawai'i's Gil Loomis (10:56:00) and Jay Paul (11:00:00) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

The triathlon, which started at San Souci Beach in Waikiki, featured 30 athletes, who raised a minimum of $1,250 each for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

The 5-year-old San Diego-based nonprofit organization has raised $2.7 million and distributed 875 grants for equipment, training and competition to athletes with physical disabilities.

Yesterday's triathlon recreated the original Ironman event that took place on O'ahu more than two decades ago. The event moved to the Big Island in 1981.
