Making hands pretty; Jennings not talking

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Making hands pretty

The hands-on (no pun intended) classes will teach all the steps to a quality home manicure using the Lippmann Collection nail color and treatment products.

She'll also discuss what to look for in a professional nail salon and the season's hottest trends for nails.

Classes will be held at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Neiman Marcus Ala Moana.

Each class lasts about an hour and a half. Reservations required: 948-7332.

Jennings not talking

Here's one story you won't be hearing from Peter Jennings: whether or not he's agreed to a new contract to stay as top anchor at ABC News.

The 63-year-old "World News Tonight" anchor refused comment on his contractual status yesterday, except to say one newspaper report that he has accepted a new long-term deal was "not entirely accurate."

Jennings already has signed an agreement to stay at ABC, according to a source close to the negotiations, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

It would make sense: Jennings will narrate a six-part series, "In Search of America," on ABC prime-time Sept. 3-7 and anchor the network's Sept. 11 anniversary coverage — both after the expiration of his old contract.

Celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann is taking a break from doing nails for Sarah Jessica Parker and the Dixie Chicks to teach classes on home manicures.
