Tonight's Must-See

"Widows" finale, 9 p.m., ABC. After a slow start, this four-parter has turned terrific. It's not too late to jump in. When the story started, three women (Mercedes Ruehl, Rosie Perez, Brooke Shields) thought their husbands were killed committing an art-gallery heist. Now Ruehl has learned her husband is alive. The third body was the boyfriend of another woman. Tonight, all four women plan a near-impossible heist of their own.

"American Idol: The Search for a Superstar," 8 p.m., Fox. Things are tight with all of the young finalists seeming too good to dump. Tonight the final three compete; viewers will then have two hours to vote on which two will reach the Sept. 3 finals.
