Woman sought in Waipahu shooting case

Police are looking for a woman involved in a heated drug-related argument with 30-year-old Hayword Julio shortly before he was shot to death eight days ago in Waipahu.

Police said Totie Tauala is wanted on a warrant for parole revocation issued in connection with a previous 1996 negligent homicide conviction.

Tauala is also sought for questioning in the death of Julio last week Wednesday near Waipahu High School. She is considered armed and dangerous, police said, and should not be approached.

Anyone with information about her and the case is asked to call Det. Ted Coons at 529-3053 or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.

Witnesses at a Poailani Circle residence told homicide investigators that Julio and the woman had a heated confrontation before the shooting occurred.

Investigators also want to question Erick Ledford, 38, as a witness about the shooting but have been unable to locate him. Ledford is wanted on a federal warrant for violating probation but has not been seen since he was reported missing in April by his family. But he reportedly was at the Poailani Circle home the night of the argument, according to witnesses.

At about the same time he was reported missing, police recovered Ledford's car in a drug bust.

A man claiming to be Ledford telephoned police recently about the car but never came to pick it up, investigators said. The car has since been repossessed by the dealer
