Salem acquires radio station

Salem Communications Corp. announced yesterday that it has completed the acquisition of KHCM-AM (formerly KJPN-AM) in Honolulu from International Communications Corp. for $650,000. The company also announced that KHCM-AM will begin broadcasting under a country music format Monday.

"We are thrilled to add our fourth station in Honolulu and are especially excited about the launch of KHCM-AM in a country music format," said Ken Gaines, vice president of operations.
