Tonight's Must-See

Rock movie marathon, all day, AMC. The first rock 'n' roll generation suffered through awful movies made by clueless grown-ups. Then it made films of its own. We'll see the results all weekend. Tonight's highlight is "This Is Spinal Tap" (1988) at 2 p.m. Rob Reiner's mock-documentary of a fictional band is hilarious. That's followed by the fun of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975) at 3:30 and 5:50 p.m. Before that, concert films rule. They include "The Last Waltz" (1978) at 10:15 a.m. and "U2 Rattle and Hum" (1988) at 12:15 p.m.

"Meet My Folks," 7 p.m., NBC. This summer show usually has three guys trying to impress one woman's parents. Here's a rerun of the hour that reversed that. Josh Figg, handsome and buff, is visited by Lisa — a sweet-faced, parent-pleasing waitress from Boise, Idaho, — and two Californians. Carrie is a model, glamorous and heavily made-up. Jaime is a waitress with a figure so extreme that Josh's mom decides it's been augmented. We can guess which one he'll prefer, but it's up to his parents.

Of Local Note

"Ka Leo Hano Music Awards," 8 p.m., ABC. Highlights of this inaugural awards ceremony honoring Hawaiian music artists are presented in this hourlong program. Award winners were selected by Hawai'i residents who cast their votes at Borders Books and Music stores statewide. Honorees include Aunty Genoa Keawe, the Brothers Cazimero and Gabby Pahinui. The event was taped last month on Maui.
