UH lineman Fuata to undergo surgery

Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i offensive lineman Lui Fuata will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair torn lateral meniscus cartilage in his left knee.

He will not be available for Saturday's regular season finale against San Diego State although there is a possibility he might be able to return for the ConAgra Foods Hawai'i Bowl on Christmas Day.

Safety Hyrum Peters has sprained the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is listed as doubtful for the San Diego State game.

Leonard Peters will probably replace Hyrum Peters (no relation).

Shayne Kajioka, who is recovering from a sprained right knee, will replace Fuata at left guard.
