Advertiser Staff

LIHU`E A body believed to be that of John Harrington, a man missing since Nov. 20, was found Saturday in the Maha'ulepu area, according to the mayor's office on Kaua'i.

Authorities are trying to identify the body and determine the cause of death.

Officials say the clothes on the body matched that of Harrington, a 55-year-old mentally disabled man.

Harrington was last seen on Nov. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at Po'ipu Beach Park, where he and his caretaker were eating lunch. After lunch, Harrington went for a walk and never returned, police said.

Police are still investigating.
