BYUH beats Fort Lewis; HPU falls to Kennesaw

Scott Salisbury did it all for Brigham Young-Hawai'i last night against Fort Lewis of Colorado.

Salisbury had team highs of 22 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and three blocked shots, leading the Seasiders to a 94-87 basketball victory over the Skyhawks at Cannon Activities Center in La'ie.

Walter Gates added 18 points, Alexus Foyle 17 and Jeremy Frampton 13 for the Seasiders.

Kevin Hatch scored 22 points, Jason Faust 16 and Trevor Lorz 14 for the Skyhawks, who led 44-40 at halftime.

BYUH made 31 of 47 free throws, while Fort Lewis made 13 of 19. The Skyhawks made 14 of 31 3-pointers, while the Seasiders made 5 of 10 from beyond the arc.

• Kennesaw State 71, Hawai'i Pacific 63: Bobby Brown scored 19 points to lead all five starters in double figures as the Owls defeated the Sea Warriors last night at Mid-Pacific gym.

Blake Coty added 15 points, Terrence Hill had 13 points, Reggie McCoy had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Tommy Thompson 10 points and five steals for Kennesaw State of Georgia, which improved to 5-1.

Leandro Maruoka scored 18 points, and Nic Walters had 16 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Sea Warriors, who fell to 2-1.

HPU led 39-33 at halftime, but shot just 30 percent (8-of-26) in the second half, including 0-for-11 from 3-point territory.

The Owls meanwhile made 15 of 32 shots in the second half
