Pedestrian injured by truck in Kailua

A 22-year-old man was in serious condition at The Queen's Medical Center after being hit by a pickup truck in Kailua early yesterday.

He may have been lying in the eastbound lanes of Kalaniana'ole Highway when he was struck by the 1987 GMC truck near Kanapu'u Drive. The driver left the truck and walked away, police said.

Kahuku woman missing in Hilo

An O'ahu woman has been missing from Hilo since Friday evening. Danie N. Haili, 40, of Kahuku, was last seen at Hilo Pier preparing to board the Norwegian Wind.

Haili is 5 feet 4, 100 pounds, with tan skin, long brown hair, brown eyes, and a 6-inch dragon tattoo on her abdomen. She wore white shorts, a copper colored sweater and yellow slippers. Call 961-2213 or 935-3311.

Windward accident fatal to woman

A 43-year-old woman died Friday after an accident in Kane'ohe. The woman lost control of her truck, which hit a tree on Anoi Road near Hinamoe Loop.

She died at The Queen's Medical Center.
