• MoldPro International, a Kailua-based indoor air quality consulting firm, will stage two seminars Thursday offering hands-on training for property managers and facility engineers in establishing and maintaining effective indoor air quality programs. Information: 262-0909.

• The broad range of research projects in Hawai'i in the promising energy field of hydrogen production and fuel cell development will be the focus of the next in a series of University connections' "meet the researchers" series. Speaking will be Rick Rocheleau, director of the University of Hawai'i's Natural Energy Institute, and Dustin Shindo, chief executive officer of Hoku Scientific Inc., a Hawai'i company developing fuel cells. • Accessing the approximately 90 percent of recent census data not available in hard copy will be one focus of an upcoming two-part workshop on locating, understanding and using census figures on a day-to-day basis. The free workshop, "ACCESSING CENSUS DATA i A STEP-TO-STEP" PROCESS," is sponsored, in part, by the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, Hawai'i Small Business Development Center Network, Hawai'i State Data Center and the U.S. Census Bureau. It is aimed at businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies among others, and is designed to offer help in using the population survey to secure grants, conduct community analysis projects, develop market research studies, or analyze neighborhoods for delivery of social services. Speaking will be Jerry Wong, information specialist and 23-year census veteran with the Los Angeles Regional Office of the Census Bureau. Of special emphasis this year will be using the Internet to obtain Census 2000 data, much of which is unavailable in hard copy form. The two-part workshop will take place Wednesday i Session I: 8:30 a.m. to noon; and Session II: 12:30 to 4 p.m. i in the No. 1 Capitol District Building, 250 S. Hotel St.,room 436.
