Pee-Wee team from Kalani in title game

The Kalani Falcons Pop Warner team scored 22 fourth-quarter points Tuesday and held off a late charge from the Pomperaug Warriors (Conn.), to reach the championship game of the Division II Pee Wee Pop Warner Super Bowl at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Florida.

Kalani defeated Pomperaug 22-16 and will face the Dale City War Eagles (Va.) tomorrow.

Pee Wee players are 9-12 years old and weigh 70-110 pounds.

In another Pee Wee game, the Pearl City Highland Colts fell to the Dorchester Eagles (Mass.) 28-12 after leading 12-6 in the first quarter.


BASEBALL

• UH winter camps: The University of Hawai'i baseball team will hold its winter camps this month at Les Murakami Stadium.

The camps are for ages 8-18, and will be conducted by UH head coach Mike Trapasso, his assistants and players. High school and college coaches will also help out.

A pitchers/catchers camp will be held Dec. 26-27.

A hitters camp will be Dec. 28-29.

The camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Each camp costs $110.
