Yuletide music at Kawaiaha'o

Kawaiaha'o Church will host the "Unto Us a King Is Born" yuletide musical performance at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

There will be lessons, carols and music by the Kawaiaha'o Church Choir and Kawaiaha'o Bell Ringers, Na Keiki O Kawaiaha'o, Hawai'i Youth Opera Chorus and the Kawaiolaonapukanileo Voice Ensemble.

Special performances by Joe Recca and dancer Shirley Recca will be part of this free performance at the church, 957 Punchbowl St.

Bethlehem scene on view

Leeward Community Church will be re-creating the little town of Bethlehem for five nights beginning Thursday.

The life-size re-enactment of the Christmas scene will include buildings of the era, animals and more than 200 actors in a dramatization of the first Christmas. It takes place at the church, a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, at 1860 Komo Mai Drive in Pearl City.

The performances start at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Dec. 22. It's the ninth such event in 18 years, and admission is free.

11 Churches in joint service

A Central O'ahu celebration of Christmas will take place next week at Mililani High School.

About 2,000 people from 11 Central O'ahu churches are expected to gather for the third annual 90-minute service, officiated by pastors from these Christian churches: Calvary Chapel of Central O'ahu, Cornerstone FellowshipiMililani Mauka, Mililani Baptist, Filipino-American Baptist, Hope Chapel-Mililani, Mililani Community Church, Mililani Missionary Church, Mililani Presbyterian Church, Pacific-Islands Bible Church and Waipio Grace Brethren.

The service is set for 7 p.m. Friday.
