Police today charged a 20-year-old man with second-degree murder in the death of Kahealani Indreginal, 11.

Christopher Clayburn Aki, of Kailihi, was expected to be arraigned in District Court tomorrow morning. Bail was set at $5 million.

Police homicide detectives early this morning released an 18-year-old man and a 31-year-old homeless man named Robert Edmund Hicks II after concluding that they were not involved.

A preliminary autopsy on Kahealani's body was finished today but investigators had not been told of the findings. Kato did say there was no indication of sexual assault. The Medical Examiner's office today declined to comment.

Aki is the fiancé of Kahealani's stepsister, Tanya Mamala-Tumbaga.

On Friday, a hiker on the 'Aiea Loop Trail discovered Kahealani's body in some brush. Kahealani was fully clothed and her necklace and earrings were found with her body. The Makalapa girl had been missing since Tuesday afternoon.
