Food and beverage industry management veteran KIMBERLY KARALOVICH, former manager of La Cucaracha Mexican Bar and Grill in Waikiki, has been named cruise manager of Atlantis Adventures' ocean tour operations, Atlantis Cruises. The parent company owns and operates Atlantis Submarines in 10 locations worldwide, and provides sales and marketing services for Sea Life Park and Waimea Falls Park. Atlantis Cruises was formerly known as Navatek Cruises.
SHEILA HAUNANI GOMES has been promoted from Bank of Hawaii vice president to senior vice president, managing the Transaction Processing and Service Center. She will oversee service delivery, financial performance and bank settlement activities for bank-wide payment services.
Also at Bank of Hawaii, DAVID W. THOMAS, vice chairman of Bank of Hawaii Corp. retail banking, became the first Hawai'i representative to be named chairman-elect of the national Consumer Bankers Association. The group, which includes most of the nation's largest bank holding companies as well as regional and community banks, represents two-thirds of the industry's assets and is recognized as the voice on retail banking issues in the nation's capital.
JOHN M. LANGAN, general manager of Compadres Bar and Grill, has been elected to the board of the Kaka'ako Improvement Association, founded in 1987 as a forum for concerned Kaka'ako business owners. Compadres celebrates its 19th anniversary at the Ward Centre location next month. Langan began with Compadres as beverage manager for the Kaka'ako location and has served as general manager of the restaurant in the Lahaina Cannery, Maui.
LINDA SASAKI, former assistant advertising manager of the West Hawai'i Today newspaper on the Big Island, has been named executive director of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce.
UILANI KELIIKOA , former loan officer with Hawai'i Pacific Federal Credit Union, has been promoted to business development officer responsible for recruiting new business members. She is a former assistant manager for the Dillingham branch of Wells Fargo Financial.
GORDON MAGILL has been named regional director of Aqua Havens of Hawai'i Inc., a subsidiary of Artificial Reefs Inc. of Florida, which manufacturers engineered modules for marine habitats and shoreline erosion protection.
