WHEE, THE PEOPLE: Charly Espina ends her Honolulu radio broadcasting career tomorrow morning on KCCN FM 100's Morning Show because she's moving to Maui, where she and Mark Takahama, a Maui letter carrier, will settle after their marriage on Lana'i in February. Espina will become radio-active soon, however, joining KPOA 93.5 FM Jan. 6. She'll be very familiar with the musical format, since Maui's No. 1 station also plays island music. "Everyone comes to a crossroad where they have to choose a path," said Espina. "I chose to be with my future husband and his children in Kihei." Her replacement to join morning co-host Billy V debuts Monday, but her identity is being kept under wraps. "But believe me, you already know and love her," said Espina. ...

General-admission $15 tickets are nearly gone (reserved space is long gone) at the Kong Lung Co., Kilauea Theatre and Kaua'i Village Theatre in Waipouli. It's a benefit for the Kaua'i Aloha Endowment, with the Kaua'i Film Festival sponsoring the screening and Damon Marc providing the theater. ...

"Fiddler," by the way, has been extended for three shows, at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday. Call 235-7433 for tickets. ...

When Temari honcho Ann Asakura was in Chicago recently, where she had a reunion with daughters Sachi (assistant director of admissions for management program at Kellogg School of Business) and Noe (a writer with Accenture), she had an "island moment" in a Mexican restaurant, noshing on burritos and guacamole: She heard the voice and 'ukulele of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, while snow fell. "I loved every moment!" ...
