University of Hawai'i senior Hedder Ilustre shares her thoughts as the Rainbow Wahine prepare for today's NCAA tournament semifinal game against Stanford.
Wednesday, Dec. 18
1 a.m. Cannot sleep! This mirror next to my bed is creeping me out, and what's up with this mosquito net around my bed?
3 a.m. Haven't slept yet. It's only 11 p.m. in Hawai'i. I need to get some rest. This is an itchy blanket, is it dog fur?
8:30 a.m. "Ring, ring!" Time to get up. It's breakfast time.
9:20 a.m. Still in bed. Need to be ready for film at 9:45.
9:30 a.m. Turn the radio on to get pumped up. It's "Jenny from the Block." J-Lo is getting Tano and I ready.
9:40 a.m. Pushing out of room. Don't want to make Dave wait for us. We've got everything and we're good to go to film.
9:45-10:15 a.m. Watch us play Stanford on Senior Night Nov. 10. We played bad that game. We're so much better now. Stupid mistakes. We play them again tomorrow ... this is it ... we got this ... I'm excited!
10:30 a.m. Waiting in the arena locker room feeling special with all this food and security. We got the police to lead us to the arena with their sirens on, running red lights and cars moving out of the way.
11:30 a.m. Lots of press and people at open gym practice. A huge audience at our practice, like a game. Getting down to business. Time to get ready for the game.
1:30 p.m. Superdome. That was cool, but still thinking about the game.
2 p.m. Back to the hotel. Sleep time? No ... have to do school work.
