SATURDAY SCOOPS
City's holiday gift to the community continues to sparkle
Advertiser Staff
We just can't say enough about the Honolulu City Lights. Keiki by the busloads take in the displays each weekday; by night, families and friends are merrily soaking up the spectacle of lights.
This year, there's even a City Lights Express train, which takes passengers for a ride ($3) around the Sky Gate sculpture and the displays on King Street. The train runs nightly through Christmas Eve.
Inside Honolulu Hale are Christmas trees and wreaths; outside are the gigantic Santa and Mrs. Claus and a spectacular tree decorated with oversized musical instruments, in keeping with this year's theme, "Na Mele Kalikimaka (The Songs of Christmas)."
So put on those comfortable walking shoes, it's all free, through Jan. 5. 523-2489.
