Mr. Magoo arrives for Christmas on DVD

Here's another one for the home DVD library: "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol."

Based on Charles Dickens' tale, the program first aired on Dec. 18, 1962, the first made-for-prime-time animated holiday TV special.

A very nearsighted Magoo, voiced by the late Jim Backus, has the starring role in a theater company's musical version of Dickens' story of a curmudgeon who learns about the giving spirit of Christmas before it's too late.

With the digitally remastered DVD by Classic Media, fans will also get a history of Mr. Magoo in television and film and an original movie poster.
