This adult female tabby is a magnificently big kitty who is very sociable. She enjoys playing ball and will sit for hours while being brushed. She has gorgeous golden eyes. Tita has enjoyed more than her share of treats; she should lose a pound or two in the new year.

Nick, a 4-year-old shepherd mix is ready to be adopted, just in the nick of time before Christmas. He has received his initial heartworm treatment and needs special TLC during the next 30 days. After that, there is one more treatment which is paid for by Max's Special Fund, set up to pay for medical care for homeless dogs.

This male terrier mix is called Jack, but he could have another name. He was found on Dec. 7 and remains unclaimed at the Hawaiian Humane Society. If you have lost this small brown-and black-brindle dog with white chest and feet, please visit the shelter to claim him.

These particular animals may have already found new homes. Please visit to see all the wonderful pets in person. The Hawaiian Humane Society & McInerny Dog Park at 2700 Wai'alae Ave. are open Mondays-Fridays, noon to 8 p.m., weekends and Christmas Eve 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Christmas Day.
