The Gannettwork?
"America Today" is the working title of a 24-hour news cable channel under discussion between the Gannett Co. Inc., and satellite and cable providers. The proposed network would combine local news from Gannett TV stations and video versions of reports from Gannett national daily USA Today.
Roger Ogden, a Gannett Broadcasting vice president, said the network would make newscasts from the top 25 U.S. markets available everywhere so people with interests in those markets could watch them daily.
Gannett owns The Honolulu Advertiser.
