Tonight's Must-See

"The Proud Family," 7 p.m., Disney Channel. Tonight, Penny is whisked back to 1955, experiencing black life in a segregated world.

Of Note

"Trapped: Buried Alive," 7 p.m., Pax TV. Remember the old disaster movies? This TV film collects all of the usual elements. An evil businessman uses bribes to get his ski resort open, then the avalanche expert is ignored. Soon, a valiant woman (Gabrielle Carteris) is leading survivors trying to escape the snowed-in resort, while her new husband (Jack Wagner) struggles outside. It's all contrived, formulaic — and kind of fun to watch.

"Providence," 7 p.m., NBC. With her medical license already in danger, Syd gets in deeper trouble while helping a gang member.

"Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials, Part II," 7 p.m., CBS. This looks at some of the unique commercials that debuted during previous Super Bowls.

"Biography," 6 p.m. & 10 p.m., A&E. Here's another Super Bowl warmup. It profiles Joe Namath, the confident quarterback who brought new respectability — and a Super Bowl victory — to what's now the American Football Conference.

"Reba," 9 p.m., WB. Reba helps her ex-husband plan a funeral for his estranged father.

"Maybe It's Me," 9:30 p.m., WB. Molly might win a Dutch-heritage scholarship. The complication is that she learns she's not Dutch.

"Friday Night Super Bowl Bash," 9 p.m., CBS. Is CBS aware that it doesn't have the Super Bowl this year? Here is its second preview event for Sunday's game, which airs on Fox. It's a New Orleans concert, with No Doubt and Sting.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Three days before an execution, the cops race to learn if the death-row prisoner was responsible for another crime.
