Mentors sought for conference

By Zenaida Serrano Espanol

If you're a career woman willing to share advice with a high school girl about preparing for her future, you can sign up to be a mentor for Teaming for Tomorrow, a career exploration conference presented by the Girl Scout Council of Hawai'i. Business managers, lawyers, pediatricians and nurses are among the dozens of careers requested.

The conference will be held March 4 and 5 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom, and will include a banquet and workshops on communication skills, setting goals and building self-confidence. Students also will spend a day shadowing their mentors. The mentor's fee is $75, which underwrites the cost of the banquet for the mentor and student. Call 595-8400, ext. 212, or visit girlscouts-hawaii.org for details.
