You can support O'ahu's Hawaiian-immersion schools while taking in local-style entertainment at Ho'omau 2002, a benefit concert at 5 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Waikiki Shell. An annual event since 1986, the concert will raise money for four preschools, five public schools and one charter school where lessons are taught in the Hawaiian language.

Acts will include Robi Kahakalau, Keahiwai, Na Keiki o Na Punana Leo, Kilinahe, Snowbird Bento, and Ku'uipo Kumukahi and Her Hawaiian Sweethearts. Tickets are available at the Blaisdell Box Office and all Ticket Connection outlets. Tickets purchased before the concert are $18 reserved ($15 if purchased by Friday), $15 general, $8 for children ages 5-8, and free for keiki 4 and under. On the day of the concert, prices will be $20, $18 and $10, respectively. Call 834-1697 for details.
