Advertiser Staff

Sally Donellon-Edge, a business owner whose battle with ovarian cancer inspired many women in Hawai'i, died Friday. She was 49.

Donellon-Edge was born in Boston. She was president of The Custom Co., a Kalihi apparel company.

After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, Donellon-Edge publicly urged women to take exams for early detection of the disease. In addition to allopathic medications, Donellon-Edge also received alternative care, including spiritual and emotional therapies.

Donellon-Edge is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Ryan; daughter, Jaimie; mother, Isabel Donellon; sisters, Mary Lopardo and Nancy Glennon; and brother, Andrew Donellon. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Unity Church. Donations may be made to Hawai'i Kids at Work or Wai'alae School.
