Design award for Wailea store

AM Partners, a Honolulu-based architectural firm, won the 2001 ISP/VM+SD Convenience Store Award of Merit for its work on the ABC Stores outlet at the Shops at Wailea.

The International Store Interior Design Awards are co-sponsored by the Institute of Store Planners and by Visual Merchandising and Store Design magazine. This year's competition attracted more than 168 entrants from North America, Central America, Africa and Europe.

In an award ceremony in New York, the judges said the ABC store design promoted a "unique neighborhood feel, while expressing a cohesive corporate image."
