Chaminade wins on road

Igor Beljanski scored 16 points to lead five teammates in double figures as Chaminade defeated the University of Great Falls, 78-76, last night at Great Falls, Mont.

Kashif Reyes added 12 points, John Kirk 11, and Jaborri Thomas, Mike Donovan and Albert Powell each contributed 10 points for the Silverwords.

William Butler scored 16 points, Dustin Miller 13 and Bo Scott 12 for Great Falls.


TENNIS

• USTA juniors on Maui: Kapalua's Tennis Garden and The Village Tennis Center will be the host sites for the United States Tennis Association's Boys and Girls National Open on Feb. 15-19.

The top-ranked juniors in the nation will compete for spots in the Super Nationals being held in April at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs, Calif. The top six singles finishers and the two doubles finalists on Maui will be automatically accepted into the main draw of the USTA Super National Championships.

WEIGHTLIFTING

• O'ahu Championships: The O'ahu Open Weightlifting Championships will be held Saturday at the Ward Warehouse stage beginning at 3 p.m.

Application fee is $15, and weigh-in will take place at 1 p.m. in the stage area. Weight divisions follow USA Weightlifting standards.
