Louisiana Tech squeaks by UH

RUSTON, La. — Gerrod Henderson scored 20 points and Zach Johnson scored 15 and had 10 rebounds as Louisiana Tech beat Hawai'i 61-57 today.

Tech (15-7, 9-3 Western Athletic Conference) shot just 35 percent from the field in the first half and trailed 29-24 at the break. The Bulldogs warmed in the second, hitting 48 percent from the field and 12-of-15 free throws.

The win was the sixth straight conference victory for the Bulldogs, who remain in third place in the WAC. The Rainbow Warriors (20-4, 11-2) are in first place, a game and a half ahead of Tech.

Antonio Meeking had 10 points and six rebounds and Darrian Brown also had six boards for Tech.

Pedrag Savovic scored 22 for Hawai'i and Carl English had 18.
