SPECIAL EVENTS

• Chinese New Year Fashion and Art Show, fashions inspired by the Chinese Dynasties designed by Anne Namba and an exhibit of oil paintings by Kelly Sueda, noon-2 p.m. today, C.S. Wo Gallery; free admission. Namba designs on display through Feb. 17 and the Sueda exhibit through Feb. 28. 543-5388.

• Khmer Artifacts on Display, artifacts which will be repatriated to Cambodia in April will be on display through next Sunday or possibly later in the month subject to transport arrangements back to Cambodia. The objects being repatriated include a 9th century stone head of Shiva and a 12th century stone head of an Asura (demon) and are on display in the John Young Gallery of Southeast Asian Art, Honolulu Academy of Art; $7 general admission, $4 seniors, students and military, academy members free to see this and all other academy exhibits. 532-8700.

• Architectural Tours, walking tours on Saturday, sponsored by the American Institute of Architects and the Honolulu Academy of Arts to honor the 75th Anniversary of the Royal Hawaiian. CLASSES/WORKSHOPS

• Elderhostel Program at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, opens registration for Hawai'i residents and nonresidents, 55 years or older, for two sessions: today through Saturday (Experience the Art and Culture of Asia and the Pacific) and March 10-16 (An Art Adventure in Hawai'i). Program includes gallery talks, slide lectures and field trips focusing on the art of Asia and the Pacific. $400 fee for residents which includes meals, lectures, field trips, etc. but no hotel accommodations; $658 for nonresidents or those needing accommodations. 532-3666.

CALLS TO ARTISTS

• The Hawai'i Division of Forestry and Wildlife is seeking submissions of paintings to be selected as the 2002-2003 Hawai'i Wildlife Conservation stamp which is used for State Hunting Licenses and available to collectors. The stamp must feature the Chukar partridge in his natural habitat. Submissions must be received by the Division no later than 4 p.m. on Feb. 20. Call for additional information: 587-0166.
