Touch up your skills at keeping children entertained

Keeping a child attentive and smiling can sometimes take more than wearing a big, squishy, red nose or making a rabbit magically appear out of a hat. So clowns, magicians and even teachers are invited to learn how to perfect their skills at the Creative Kid Show Conference, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 9 at the Blaisdell Center.
The conference will offer six lectures by professional entertainers on kid-show magic and comedy, as well as three dealer booths of magic and clown props. The event is for anyone who does any type of children's entertainment, said organizer Glen Bailey. The cost for adults is $35 advance or $45 at the door; children 17 and younger pay $20 or $25, respectively. Call 488-5162 for details or to register.
