Achievers

Isaac Sisneros, a student at the University of Colorado-Boulder and former Kailua resident, has received a $1,000 Judy Carol Crites Herron Scholarship from the university.

The American Mothers Inc. East O'ahu Chapter has honored Shirley Fake, a teacher at Kilauea Ohana Preschool, and Lisa Kimsey-Tuttle, a dance instructor at The Movement Center, for being outstanding mother models in the community.

Maui Community College culinary students James Domingo, Preston Kanoa, Ryan Nishimura and Leo Pasalo each have received a $500 scholarship. Nishimura and Pasalo were recipients of the Christian Jorgensen Kapa'a Rotary Scholarship in Culinary Arts. Domingo and Kanoa were recipients of the Bobby Masters Kapa'a Rotary Scholarship in Culinary Arts.

Winners of the Windward Mall Teen Board Scholarship Program are: Venus Lee of Punahou School, $1,000 and a $100 Teen's Choice Award; Caitlin Suzuki of Kailua Intermediate, $500; Ilana Iaea of Windward Nazarene Academy, $400; Cherisse Pereira of Castle High, Melanie Pearson of Punahou, and home-school student Dawn Yamura, $250 each; and Nona Bayani of Kailua High, $250 Director's Award.
