Healthy heart topic of Maui forum

WAILUKU, Maui — "The Healthy Heart" will be the focus of this month's meeting of the Health Promotion Hui.

The hui holds free events on the third Saturday of each month in the Maui Memorial Medical Center auditorium. The group comprises the hospital, nonprofit agencies and others who promote the health and well-being of Maui citizens.

The February event will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, with Maui cardiologists Dr. Howard Barbarosh, Dr. James Muto and Dr. Mark Schwab. Topics will include heart disease prevention, current medical therapies and pharmacology, and new interventions.

Also at the event, the American Heart Association will provide free blood pressure screenings.
