Funeral services for Ellen Wah Jun Young, longtime owner of Sweet Leilani Florist in Kalihi, will be held Sunday at Borthwick Mortuary.

Young, 79, also known as Hu Wah Jun, died at her Honolulu home Feb. 5. A Taoist service from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary will be followed by burial at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 p.m. Casual attire is recommended.

Young had owned and operated Sweet Leilani Florist since 1947, first in Nu'uanu, then moving to 620 Dillingham Blvd. in 1988.

"The floral business was her life," said Young's daughter Linda Ko, who now helps run the three-generation family business. "Even when she went into semi-retirement, she was always there to depend upon."

Young was born Dec. 14, 1922 in Honolulu. She is survived by brothers Mun Chung Hu, Norman C.C. Hu and Dr. William C. Hu; sisters Jennie W.J. Mun and Jeannette K.J. Miyata; daughters Linda B.Y. Ko, Brenda B.H. Young-Matsui and Wanda B.L. Wong; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
