Sanctuary seeks whale counters
Advertiser Staff
The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (aren't you glad you don't have to answer their phones?) is looking for people to participate in its annual whale count.
Information from three separate whale-counting events will be used to help the sanctuary develop time line data to monitor the presence of humpback whales during the season's peak months.
The first count took place on Jan. 26. Two more on Feb. 23 and March 30 are scheduled.
