Spirent Communications, a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc, yesterday announced that Sprint has selected Spirent's integrated network test and service assurance solution to help verify and optimize the performance of its global telecommunications network.

The exact value of the multimillion-dollar deal was not disclosed.

Spirent has partnered with Sprint to build an automated testing solution designed to reduce the amount of time spent tuning up and troubleshooting new and existing customer circuits.

"Sprint is one of the first service providers to benefit from the integration of our performance analysis and service assurance solutions," said My Chung, president of Spirent Communications. "This powerful combination, which is unique to Spirent, will help Sprint deliver new services more quickly, reduce operational costs and ensure customer satisfaction."

Spirent Communications designs and manufactures Honolulu-based Adtech, DLS, Edgcumbe, GSS, Hekimian, SmartBits, TAS and Zarak products.
